Proficiency #1 Extra Thoughts
In the poster I made I gave a few facts on the different galaxies, but never included any of my further thinking. So, this paper is to talk about some of the extra thoughts I had about galaxies.
ØFirst of many ways I thought of is if two galaxies were to smash into one another. This would most likely cause matter to be pulled and pushed in different directions ruining the shape and structure of the two colliding galaxies.
ØAnother good reason I thought about is when two galaxies pass one another at a reasonably close distance. The gravity from one galaxy would most likely pull on the other, but at the same time the other galaxy is pulling back, pulling, twisting, and breaking the shape of the galaxies.
ØMy last thought was if a large galaxy encountered a smaller one, if the larger one were to 'swallow' the smaller one it would have extra matter from the smaller galaxy to deal with.
Would living on earth be anything different if we were closer the center of the Milky Way?
ØI found that there would most likely be more gravity and many more sources of gravity because stars have been found forming at the center around the nuclear bulge, most think it's because of the nucleus found near the center.
ØThere would most likely be rapidly changing temperatures because of all the new stars forming around us. This would also cause rapid fluctuations in our temperature and climate, changing the way we live, and possibly wiping out a series of species on earth.

Proficiency #6
The first steps of our solar system's creation begins with a collapse of a giant molecular cloud. Most of the center forming the sun, while the rest was shot out into a disk-like shape; this disk contained the planets, or what they were made of, the moons, asteroids, and everything else.
Later the contains of this disk were pulled back towards the sun starting an orbit from the planets. The asteroids began to orbit in the asteroid belt and the moons found planets to orbit. This hypothesis, known as the nebular hypothesis, was first developed in the 18th century by Emanuel Swedenborg, Immanuel Kant, and Pierre-Simon Laplace.
The Solar System has done a lot of evolving since its initial form. Many moons have formed from circling discs of gas and dust around their parent planets, while other moons are believed to have formed independently and later been captured by their planets. Still others, as Earth's moon, may be the result of giant collisions. Collisions between bodies have occurred continually up to the present day and have been very important to the evolution of the Solar System.
The positions of the planets often shifted, and planets have switched places. This planetary migration now is believed to have been responsible for much of the Solar System's early evolution. The original placement of the planets is still unknown.
The final result of the migration has left us with eight planets. These eight, although very different in their own ways, can be separated into two groups, the inner and outer planets.
The inner planets are very small compared to the outer ones, Earth being the biggest with a diameter of 7,926 miles. Mercury is the smallest in the solar system with a diameter of 3,031 miles.
The outer planets, all made of gas are very large. Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system with a diameter of 88,846 miles, Neptune is the smallest of the outer planets with a diameter of 30,779 miles. Neptune being the smallest of the outer planets is still over 23,000 miles bigger in diameter than the largest of the inner planets Earth.
The main reason for the major differences in size between the inner and outer planets is because the inner planets are very dense caused by the density of the elements that make them up. Because the inner planets are so densely packed together, they are small but they are solid making them much easier to study because they have an actual surface. Although all inner planets can be stood on, only Earth has a survivable atmosphere.
The atmospheres of the Outer Planets consist mostly of Hydrogen and Helium, with Methane also being present in the atmospheres of Uranus and Neptune. Other gases are present although in much smaller quantities. The outer planets do not have a solid surface, they are all made of gas, hence the nickname 'Gas Giants'.
The inner planets have a faster year just because they are closer to the sun making their lap shorter. Although a day on an inner planet is much slower then one on an outer ones. Uranus spins slowest, taking 17 hours and 14 minutes to spin on its axis. Jupiter takes only 9 hours and 55 minutes to spin on its axis. This rapid rotation causes Jupiter and Saturn to appear squashed, wider across the equator than from top to bottom.
The inner planets spin quite slowly compared to the outer ones. Earth spins the quickest, taking 23 hours and 56 minutes to spin on its axis. Venus takes 243 days to spin on its axis, spinning in an opposite direction to the other planets.
As incredible as these planets are their future is completely dependant on our sun's future. In about 5 billion years the Sun will burn all of the hydrogen in its core. Once this happens, the core will shrink under its own gravity, until it becomes so dense that the helium atoms will begin to collide to form carbon and oxygen. These collisions produce much more energy than the hydrogen fusion that powers the Sun today.
The extra energy will cause big changes in the Sun. The core will become much hotter, causing the Sun to swell to over one hundred times its present size, swallowing up the planets Mercury and Venus. Even though the core will be hotter, the surface will be cooler than it is today, changing in color from yellow to red, becoming a red giant.
It will then cast off its outer layers as a planetary nebula, and leave behind it's corpse known as a white dwarf. But before that, the gravity of passing stars will gradually pull the outer planets away from the sun. Some planets will be destroyed, others ejected into space. Over the course of trillions of years, when a white dwarf, it is likely that the Sun will be left with none of the original planets, asteroids, or moons in orbit today.

Current Stable Version

The current stable release of GIMP is 2.10.24 (2021-03-28).

Pssst.. want to check out the GIMP 2.99.4 development release?
Get it on our development downloads page.

We think your OS is Well, we don't actually know. Either JavaScript is disabled, or I am not working quite right.. So I am showing you all the options.

GIMP for Unix-like systems

If available, the official package from your Unix-like distribution is the recommended method of installing GIMP!

Tankita mac os. The flatpak build is new and has known limitations, though it will likely provide faster updates, following GIMP releases closely.
Therefore choose your installation medium according to your needs.

Flatpak build available in: x86-64 and AArch64 (note: i386 and ARM-32 versions used to be published, yet are now stuck at GIMP 2.10.14 and 2.10.22 respectively).

Flatpak additional instructions

The flatpak link above should open your software installer and prompt you to install GIMP. Yet it may not work out-of-the-box on some platforms since the flatpak technology is new. If that is the case, ensure flatpak is installed and if clicking the link still does not prompt to install GIMP, then manually install by command line:

flatpak install https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.gimp.GIMP.flatpakref

Planet

Once installed, it will be made available exactly the same way as other applications (menus, desktop overview, or any specific application launch process used by your desktop).
If this is not the case, we suggest to report a bug to your desktop or distribution asking for proper support of flatpak. In the meantime, you can still run it by command line (not as the recommended method, only a workaround):

flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP//stable

This installation will also provide regular update. You don't have to come back on this page and install again (it will not work!) when a new version of GIMP is released. Instead if your distribution and/or desktop has a good support for flatpak, it should propose to perform updates.
Once again, if your distribution does not have proper support, you can always fall back to using the following command line:

flatpak update

Systems without flatpak support

GIMP can also run on Solaris and is available for the BSD family of systems such as FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

Please refer to the documentation for your Unix-like system on the installation of software.

GIMP for macOS

Note: the currently available package provides GIMP 2.10.22 and has not yet updated to the latest version, GIMP 2.10.24. We're working on that, please check back later.

Previous installers for OSX can be found here: download.gimp.org.

Macports

An easy way to compile and install GIMP and other great Free software on your Mac is by using Macports. The installer allows you to choose from a large directory of packages. To install gimp using Macports, you simply do sudo port install gimp once you have Macports installed.

Last we checked, the GIMP port file pointed to the current stable release and we have reports from people who've built GIMP successfully this way.

Homebrew

Homebrew is similar to Macports and provides packages (aka formulas) to install, either by compiling them from source or by using pre-made binaries. There are indications that there is now a formula for GIMP, installable with: brew tap homebrew/cask && brew install --cask gimp.

NOTE! Please be aware that it was announced recently that Homebrew is using analytics. To turn this off in homebrew then run: brew analytics off
You can read more about this on Brew Analytics.

Fink

Fink is a package repository that offer mostly precompiled binaries. It provides the apt-get command known to e.g. Debian and Ubuntu users, and installing GIMP is as easy as sudo apt-get install gimp once you have installed the Fink installer.
If there's no binary package, then fink install gimp will compile GIMP from source.

Disclaimer: we haven't been able to determine if it is possible to install or build recent GIMP from Fink. Last we checked, GIMP 2.6.12 appears to be the most recent GIMP package that is offered there.

GIMP for Windows

Updated on 2021-04-07: GIMP 2.10.24 installer revision 3
Backported GLib fix for very slow file dialogs (issue #913) and custom GTK2 fix for non-functional Wacom Airbrush finger wheel (issue #6394).
